IMO, Norton and McAfee are better utilized in an Enterprise system environment protecting many client computers. Bottom 's all about increasing profits and finding new and creative ways to do so. Since most folks know very little about computer security and anti-virus software, many tend to keep whatever came with their system when they first purchased it. Before the trial expiration period, you may receive repeated notices about renewing or purchasing a subscription in order to continue using the anti-virus. When the trial period expires, the user will have to either remove the software or purchase the full version in order to keep using the product. Many OEM manufacturers provide trial versions of anti-virus programs preinstalled on computers as part of their software package. I want to use a product that can be installed on multiple PCs. I don't know which one is better, in terms of effectiveness removing infections, performance, and price.
I can only afford to pay for one security application, either McAfee Security or Malwarebytes. However I've had previous experience with McAfee Security on my old computer, and I can say that it was effective. I don't know whether they are effective or not. I'm wondering should I use McAfee Security or Windows Defender together with Malwarebytes products such as anti-malware, anti-ransomware, anti-rootkit, and anti-exploit? I know that Malwarebytes makes a lot of such security products. I also read some articles saying that windows defender is just not good enough as an antivirus. However I read this article here suggesting to use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes as a security solution for Windows 10. I see that over the last 7 days 482 bad connections were blocked by McAfee.That looks good. After that I am advertised a special McAfee Welcome Offer to purchase the software for $24.99, because it was already installed on the PC. It had McAfee Security products installed on it such as LiveSafe, Safe Connect, and Security Scan Plus. I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 10 on it.
